Alexandria

San Diego native, Alexandria Junker (pronounced “Yunker”) comes from a family of musicians with roots in the Southern Louisiana jazz scene.  With a Grandfather, uncle, and several cousins who are all successful musicians, this 17-year-old is coming into her own performing locally at La Mesa’s Brew Coffee Spot, the La Mesa Flag Day Parade and now at the 12th annual heART of Mt. Helix.  Her past performances include The House of Blues and and the Troubadour in Hollywood where she attended “Rock And Roll Camp for Girls” and studied with industry professionals such as Raining Jane guitarist, Becky Gebhardt, percussionist Mona Tavakoli and Hole percussionist Patty Schemel as well as cousin and singer song-writer, Aijia Grammer.  Alexandria has studied guitar for the past 9 years with local musician and Moze Guitar teacher Ian Owen, who currently performs with several local artists including Birdy Bardot, The Tarantist, Cardinal Moon and Oh Sprit.  She has a wide range of musical influences including The Beatles, Styx, Heart, Panic at the Disco!, Gerard Way, Oingo Boingo, the Dropkick Murphys and Greenday. Her vocal style has been inspired by Lana Del Rey, Alanis Morsette and a host of Irish Folk singers.
