Penelope Quirk is a Jersey girl who got her Bachelor of Fine arts from the Philadelphia College of Art with a major in Printmaking. She also attended the San Francisco Art Institute as well as San Diego City College. After graduating PCA in 1981 she moved to San Francisco for 3 years where she was the art director for Magical Blend magazine.

Penny moved to San Diego in 1984 where she met her husband Mike, also from  New Jersey. They have 2 beautiful daughters, Mary and Emily, ages 24 and 19 who both attended Murray Manor Elementary where Penny was the Art Docent Coordinator for 11 years. Her company was born out of necessity to help put art back into the school system.

Penelope Quirk is the President of Art Smarts, Inc., teaching kids

after school art lessons in many schools and other locations including summer camps at the La Mesa Rec Center and spring and fall camps on top of Mt. Helix.

Every Friday afternoon from 4 - 5pm Penelope teaches art at the San Carlos Rec Center.

Penny has a passion for painting sea turtles and started a company called Honu Wisdom.  www.HonuWisdom.com is where all her sea turtle paintings are posted. Her goal is to have 44 paintings for an Oracle Card Deck in which each painting provides positive, uplifting wisdom to encourage the reader. Visit the website for some Honu Wisdom.
