Caterpillar phacelia or Caterpillar Scorpionweed

Caterpillar phacelia or Caterpillar Scorpionweed is an annual plant that grows up to two feet in height, producing light purple flowers that unfurl in long tubes that resemble caterpillars. During its growth season, between March and May, this plant can be found throughout the Park.
